JAMMU, Aug 23: Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the drug menace, Jammu Police, South Zone, achieved a breakthrough with the arrest of two drug peddlers and recovery of a heroin-like substance.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP South, SDPO City East and SHO Police Station Bahu Fort.
During routine patrolling duties, a police team from Police Post Narwal, led by its Incharge and assisted by other officials, intercepted two suspicious individuals near Railway Pulli, Narwal.
On questioning, the suspects were identified as:
oAashiq Hussain S/o Abdul Amjeed R/o Anantnag, Larnoo A/p Sidhra Majeen, District Jammu
oRaj Mohd S/o Saif Ali R/o Chak Manga Gujraa, District Samba
On their personal search, police recovered approximately 41 grams of heroin-like substance from their possession.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 259/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort, and both accused have been taken into custody for further investigation.
