Jammu, Aug 24: A badminton tournament was organized by the Padam Dev Singh Badminton Club Sainik Colony to pay tribute to Late Sh Piara Singh Choudhary, former MLA. The tournament was inaugurated on 23.08.2025 at Indoor Complex MA Stadium Jammu. The venue was shifted today to Police lines badminton hall due flood like conditions at MA Stadium. In the finals today, Sh Vikram Randhawa Honorable MLA, Bahu Constituency, was the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes. In Womens Singles, Ms Sushani Sharma defeated Diamond Rajput 2-0. In Mens Singles, Mr Navdeep Singh lost to Mr Udhyam Sharma by 1-2 whereas in Mens doubles 90+ category, Mohit Jain & Vikas Chowdhary lost to Vikas Verma & Balwinder Singh Saini 0-2 & in Mens doubles 120+ Romesh Sharma & Narinder Khajuria defeated Ashok Kumar & RK Dubey 2-0. Prominent among others present were Dr Sandeep Gupta, P D Singh, Amit Singh, Pankaj Vij, Ankush Jamwal, Anil Katare & others. In the tournament a cash prize of Rs 20000 was distributed among the winners. |
