IIM Jammu inaugurates tenth batch of Nurturing Future Leadership Program

JAMMU, Aug 25: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu under the leadership of Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu inaugurated the tenth batch of the Nurturing Future Leadership Program on 25th Aug 2025 at its permanent campus, Nyaya Classroom, Vedanta, MDP Centre, Jagti. Organized under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this initiative reflects IIM Jammu's commitment to academic excellence and leadership development. The tenth batch comprised of 28 participants from institutes across India and is fully funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony. This unique residential training program, scheduled from 25th to 29th August 2025, is designed to build leadership capabilities among educators across levels, creating a pool of future-ready leaders to drive generational transitions. Delivered by IIM Jammu's esteemed faculty, the program focuses on strengthening strategic thinking and enhancing leadership potential within institutions. Participants introduced themselves and shared their reflections, highlighting their experiences and expectations from the program. The program Directors for this program are Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu and Dr. Garima Maurya, faculty, IIM Jammu. Present on the occasion were Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Chairperson, Academics, IIM Jammu; Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy (EE &C), IIM Jammu; Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson, Anandam and Media and Publication Division, IIM Jammu; and Prof. Pranab Ranjan Das, Professor of Practice, IIM Jammu.
Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed participants to the program, highlighting the Institute's role as a premier management institution committed to excellence and innovation. He also mentioned the Institute entering its tenth glorious year of excellence on 22nd Aug 2025. He emphasized active engagement, encouraging participants to connect with peers and faculty, and contribute to open dialogue and collaborative solutions. He commended the Ministry of Education's initiative to nurture academic leaders, noted the acute shortage of leadership in academia, and reiterated that teaching is a noble profession with a profound impact on students' lives. Citing India's achievements such as UPI and Operation Sindoor, he underscored how these reflect the nation's growing global stature. He urged participants to explore IIM Jammu's world-class infrastructure, engage wholeheartedly in interactive discussions, and share institutional challenges for collective growth, and also wishing them a productive and enriching five-day learning experience at IIM Jammu.
Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu highlighted the remarkable growth journey of IIM Jammu, across various verticals. He spoke about the diverse programs offered by the Institute, including the Ph.D. program, and reaffirmed the vision of Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, of keeping the nation first and contributing to the goal of Viksit Bharat. He mentioned that the upcoming five days will focus on multiple dimensions of learning and development, while also underlining the Institute's unique location in close proximity to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, which provides an inspiring environment for holistic growth.
Prof. Sanjeev Pathak welcomed participants to the five-day program, emphasizing IIM Jammu's commitment to quality and value addition in executive education. He highlighted that this 10th batch when the Institute has entered its tenth year brings wide range of sessions focused on leadership, strategic thinking, academic leadership, and AI in education. He stressed the importance of collaboration, peer learning, and creating an immersive experience that blends learning with fun.Dr. Garima Maurya, Program Director, IIM Jammu, welcomed Batch 10, highlighting their role as catalysts for change in an era of rapid technological shifts. She emphasized transformative and collaborative leadership aligned with nation-building, noting that the program will include project-based workshops to build practical skills. To conclude, she urged participants to empower one another and extended a warm welcome to all.
