MLA Bahu Ch Vikram Randhawa visits flood-affected Sadhar Bazar, Satwari

JAMMU, Aug 25: MLA Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today visited Sadhar Bazar, Satwari, under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Board, to assess the damages caused by heavy flooding in the area. Due to recent rains, flood water had entered the shops, causing widespread damage to goods and business establishments.
During the visit, Ch. Vikram Randhawa personally saw the water that had entered into the shops and interacted with the shopkeepers who suffered losses. He expressed concern over the condition of the market and assured the traders that their problems will be addressed on priority.
The MLA was accompanied by Col. Amit Kumar Mane (CEO, Cantonment Board), Sh. Bharat Bhushan (Member, Cantonment Board), Pawan Singh (Ex. Corporator), Rajesh Gupta and several shopkeepers and local dignitaries. Together, they inspected the affected areas and stressed the urgent requirement of a proper drainage network and preventive infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Randhawa said, "It was distressing to see water entering into the shops and causing losses to our traders. I assure the business community that this issue will be taken up with the concerned authorities immediately to find a permanent solution. The government stands with the people and the shopkeepers in this hour of difficulty."
The shopkeepers welcomed the MLA's timely visit, stating that his presence on ground and direct assessment of their losses has given them confidence that their concerns will be taken seriously.
Ch. Vikram Randhawa reiterated his full commitment to the welfare of the trading community and assured that all possible efforts will be made to provide relief as well as permanent preventive measures to safeguard their livelihood in the future.
