early times report

Jammu, Aug 27: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit today, on the occasion of the Ganesh festival,
seated Ganpati in the party's State Central Office and prayed to calm the fierce form of nature and protect it.
On this occasion, State Chief Manish Sahni, extended his best wishes for Ganpati festival and expressed deep condolences on the destruction caused by heavy rains in entire Jammu-Kashmir, including the death of 31 devotees due to landslide on Vaishno Yatra route in Katra last Tuesday and 4 people due to cloudburst in Doda district. Sahni said that despite the warnings issued by weather experts and scientists for the last few days about climate change, heavy rainfall, cloudburst and other catastrophic destruction, the administration and the concerned departments ignored it. The public is bearing the brunt of this with loss of life and property.
Currently, the water level of Tarna River, Ujh River, Maggar Khad, Sahar Khad and their tributaries in Kathua, Basantar in Samba, Tawi, Jhelum and Chenab in Jammu has crossed the danger mark.
Sahni said that the reckless development going on without the opinion of experts, haphazard mountain demolition, deforestation and illegal mining etc. have completely disturbed the environmental balance, the result of which is in front of everyone in the form of premature deaths.
The ruling party also does not take long to wash its hands off this disaster by calling it a natural disaster. Sahni and all the Shiv Sainiks today prayed at the feet of Ganpati Bappa for freedom and protection from natural disasters in the future. On this occasion, many leaders and workers including General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Executive President Sanjeev Kohli were present.
