DC Baramulla reviews arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)
8/29/2025 9:47:46 PM
Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Aug 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting at the DC office meeting hall here to review and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations in the district.
During the meeting, DC directed all ADCs and SDMs to visit shrines and religious places within their respective jurisdictions to take a firsthand appraisal of arrangements.
He emphasized conducting a special sanitation drive around shrines and congregation sites, besides ensuring adequate transport and traffic management, deployment of fire tenders, and illumination.
He further directed the concerned officers to keep dewatering pumps ready and carry out defogging spray at all major congregation sites, especially in view of the recent rainfall and instances of water logging, which may otherwise lead to the spread of water-borne diseases.
DC instructed the concerned authorities to undertake repair and maintenance of approach roads leading to shrines to facilitate smooth movement of devotees.
Moreover, Minga Sherpa stressed on putting in place foolproof security arrangements in and around shrines and major congregation sites, in close coordination with the police and other enforcement agencies, to ensure peaceful and hassle-free observance of the occasion.
To ensure public health facilities, DC directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to deploy dedicated medical teams, along with ambulances, at major congregation sites for providing on-the-spot medical assistance to devotees.
He also directed Executive Engineer KPDCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply across all shrines and congregation sites during the celebrations.
In addition, DC directed Tehsildars, SHOs and other concerned officers to conduct intensive market checking in their respective jurisdictions to curb profiteering and ensure availability of essential commodities at government-approved rates during the festive days.
DC urged all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the auspicious occasion.
