Early Times Report
BANI, Aug 30: Amid the devastation caused by incessant rains in the region, MLA Bani, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, personally reached out to the flood and rain-affected families of Duggani village in his constituency to provide immediate relief.
A total of 38 families were given ration kits, blankets, tents, and other necessary items to help them cope with the difficult situation.
Dr. Rameshwar Singh, accompanied by social activists Marhoof Mali, Parveen Singh, Pushpinder Singh, and Ganesh Singh, visited the affected areas and supervised the relief drive.
The MLA ensured that the displaced families were also shifted to nearby government buildings for temporary shelter, as many houses had become unsafe due to flooding and landslides.
Speaking to the people on the spot, Dr. Singh said, "I stand shoulder to shoulder with every family in this time of crisis. Nature's fury has caused immense hardship, but it is our duty to ensure that no one sleeps hungry or suffers in the cold. My priority is to provide food, shelter, and safety to those who have lost their homes and belongings."
He further appealed to the administration for continued support in relief and rehabilitation measures, stressing that immediate steps must be taken to restore normalcy.
"I urge the government to expedite restoration works and extend adequate compensation to the affected families so that they can rebuild their lives with dignity," Dr. Singh added.
Local residents expressed gratitude to the MLA for personally reaching out and providing urgent supplies during such testing times. They said the timely assistance had given them relief and hope.
The relief distribution in Duggani was marked by community participation and the spirit of solidarity.
The MLA assured that he would continue to monitor the situation closely and extend all possible help until normal life is restored in the affected villages.
