JAMMU, Aug 30: A Start up competition "DAV Startup Spark" was organized by IIC in collaboration with Department of Computer Science. Students from different streams presented their startup ideas.
Principal Dr. Amardeep Gupta appreciated the efforts of all the participants. He emphasized that such competitions provide a platform that nurtures the seeds of enterprise, encourages risk-taking, and fosters a mindset of resilience. In a world that is evolving rapidly, the ability to think independently, innovate locally, and act globally is what will define the leaders of tomorrow. He also encouraged the students by saying that even if their idea wins today or not, they must always remember that every great startup begins with a spark. They must keep refining, keep learning, and most importantly, keep believing. He also assured that college is committed to supporting entrepreneurial initiatives through workshops, incubation support, and mentorship.
The ideas presented by students include Edutrack- Smart Student Monitoring System by Taruna Kaur Bamrah and Piyush, Code Krunx by Jai Gobind Pal Singh, Hairtreeoils by Ayaan Mehra, Cool by Anshdeep Singh, Enhancing tourist experience in Amritsar through a mobile application by Trigun Singh Thakur, Niche Home-Based service by Raghav Mansotra, BYOB by Krishnam behal and many more.
Prof. Sudhir Passi, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce was the judge. Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Prof. Balram Singh Yadav and Dr. Naina Handa were present during the event. |
