Today, the Home distributed 1,000 packed lunches consisting of Rajma Chawwal, pickle and a water bottle to the flood-affected families in several villages and surrounding areas of Jammu District. The team of Oldage Home was lead by Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Secretary with Vijay Gupta, Jt.Secretary, SatPal Sharma, Pankaj Gupta and R.C.Vaid, Committee Members besides Sr. Rajinder Singh, Life Member and Sr. Parvinder Singh, Ex-Sarpanch. The area broadly covered were Village Bore Camp, Mangu Chak, Nandwal, Sure Chak, and areas within Jammu city. The relief packages were provided to those in dire need, especially those struggling to cope with the aftermath of the devastating floods.
With the floodwaters having caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure, basic necessities such as food and water remain a critical need for these affected families.
Sh. I.D. Soni, the President of the Home for the Aged & Infirm, expressed his deep concern for the suffering caused by the calamity. “We believe that during times of distress, every act of kindness counts. The elderly, who often face physical limitations, can still show immense compassion, and this relief distribution is our way of making a difference in the lives of the affected families,” he said.
The Home has been at the forefront of relief efforts throughout the ongoing flood crisis and has committed to continue its support to the affected communities with future initiatives in the coming days. With the help of the staff, volunteers, and generous donors, the Home aims to provide immediate relief to as many people as possible and help rebuild the lives of those who have lost everything.
