Significant improvement in cement dispatches from NFR

MALIGAON, Aug 31: The cement loading performance of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has shown a remarkable improvement in 2025-26 (April-July) as compared to the same period in 2024-25. In 2024-25, NFR loaded 1,628 wagons carrying 0.104 million tonnes (MT) of cement, whereas in 2025-26, the figure rose significantly to 2,792 wagons carrying 0.178 MT. This reflects an impressive year-on-year growth of about 71% in terms of both wagons and tonnage. Furthermore, for the first time, two rakes (84 wagons) of cement were dispatched from the Lumding division of NFR to the Sonpur Division (SEE) of East Central Railway by STAR Cement, with destinations Narayanpur Anant (NRPA) and Tilrath (TIL) receiving 42 wagons each.
In August 2025, NFR loaded cement from Star Cement Siding, Tetelia near Guwahati to multiple destinations. A total of 21 wagons of cement were loaded from Star Cement Siding (STAR) to Kishanganj (KNE) under Katihar Division of NFR on 19th August, 2025. Similarly, 21 wagons were loaded from STAR Siding to Tilrath (TIL), on 25th August, 2025 which falls under Sonpur Division (SEE) of East Central Railway.
In July 2025, cement loading was carried out on a larger scale to various destinations. From Star Cement Siding, 21 wagons were sent to Tilrath (TIL), while 42 wagons were dispatched to Narayanpur Anant (NRPA) under Sonpur Division (ECR). Additionally, 42 wagons were moved to Kishanganj (KNE) under Katihar Division of NFR, 21 wagons to PCM Concrete Sleeper Siding (PCSK), and another 21 wagons to Pristine Hindustan Infraprojects Pvt Ltd (PHNJ), both under Katihar Division (NFR). Apart from this, 20 wagons were loaded from New Guwahati (NGC) - Dalmia Siding to Pristine Hindustan Infraprojects Pvt Ltd (PHNJ).
The stations involved in this freight movement and their respective divisions are as follows: Star Cement Siding (STAR) falls under Lumding Division of N. F. Railway and served as the origin point for cement loading. Kishanganj (KNE) is under Katihar Division of NFR, while Tilrath (TIL) and Narayanpur Anant (NRPA) are under Sonpur Division of East Central Railway. PCM Concrete Sleeper Siding (PCSK) and Pristine Hindustan Infraprojects Pvt Ltd (PHNJ) are under Katihar Division of NFR and New Guwahati (NGC) comes under Lumding Division of NFR.
