Early Times Report
JALANDHAR, Sept 6: In a momentous stride towards global academic engagement, eight outstanding students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) represented India at prestigious Summer University Programs in Russia; five at Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg) and three at Kazan Federal University (Kazan). Selected under 100% scholarships that covered airfare, accommodation, tuition, and all program expenses, the students joined 300+ international participants from countries including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, Indonesia, Egypt, Morocco, Mongolia, Oman, and more, alongside Russian students.
The intensive programme combined advanced academic learning with cross-cultural engagement. Participants attended lectures, seminars and hands-on workshops led by leading professors of Kazan Federal University and industry specialists. They also took part in excursions, language learning activities and cultural programmes designed to introduce them to the heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan and the progressive urban landscape of Kazan.
Bringing additional laurels to LPU, the university's team led by Khushi Thakur, a Bachelor of Architecture student, secured top honours in the Summer School Hackathon. Their innovative approach, design excellence, leadership and problem solving on an international platform. Sharing the experience, Khushi remarked, "This programme expanded my vision of design and collaboration beyond borders. Networking with brilliant minds from around the world has been both inspiring and deeply rewarding."
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, "At LPU, education is not confined to geographical boundaries. We envision a learning ecosystem where our students operate confidently on global platforms, engage with the finest minds, and contribute to shaping the future with ideas that transcend borders."
Dr. Aman Mittal, Vice-President of LPU, added, "At LPU, our focus is on building thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers who can influence progress on an international scale. We provide fully funded global programmes, semester-abroad initiatives, credit transfer pathways, and international research collaborations. These initiatives allows them to maintain flexibility in their degree programmes while preparing to thrive in diverse academic and professional landscapes worldwide."
