KVK Reasi Trains Rural Women on Agri-entrepreneurship

Reasi, Sept 6: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised training programme on“Agri-entrepreneurship development among rural women ” here at Sirla village in Reasi distt. of J&K which was attended by the number of women farmers of the village.The programme was organised under the dynamic stewardship of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.B.N.Triptahi and able guidance of Director Extension (DE), Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J.Dr. Banarsi Lal,Chief Scientist &Head of KVK Reasi discussed in detail on agri-entrepreneurship development among the rural women and discussed on the scientific production of maize,millets, pulses, oilseeds,poultry,goatery etc. of commercial level.He said the participants that by commercial agriculture they can enhance their crop production and raise their income and employment. He further added that hilly areas have immense scope in natural farming and guided the farmers on the eco-friendly agricultural technologies required for the organic and natural farming. He stressed on the commercial cultivation of maize,millets,pulses, oilseeds crops etc. as these crops have potential in the area and farmers can fetch more returns by growing them of commercial level. He also guided farmers on commercial dairy farming, food processing, vegetable and fruit processing etc.He elaborated the formulation of natural farming inputs and stressed guided farmers to use in the farmers so that the farm income can be increased by reducing the cost of cultivation.He discussed on the efficient farm management practices for the maximum results.Farmers thanked KVK Reasi for organising such a useful programme. The programme was concluded by Sh.Manohar Lal with formal vote of thanks.
