Early Times Report
SURANKOTE, Sept 9: A vibrant and meaningful Youth Empowerment Workshop was successfully organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (My Bharat) in collaboration with Government Degree College (GDC) Surankote, and in association with the Public Peace and Development Foundation. The event, held at the college's Auditorium Hall, brought together students, speakers, and dignitaries in a collective effort to inspire and guide the youth of Surankote towards constructive growth, sports, volunteerism, and a life free from harmful practices like drug use.
The workshop was designed as a youth-led platform where students could engage with various flagship government initiatives aimed at education, health, skills, and community progress. Six special speakers addressed the gathering:
Shazia Fatima highlighted the impact of PM Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan in empowering tribal communities.
Tabassum Fathima explained the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission in ensuring safe drinking water for households.
Mehr un Nisa spoke about opportunities under Skill India, motivating students to embrace technical training and capacity building.
Jasrah Parveen addressed the audience on Ayushman Bharat, emphasizing affordable and accessible healthcare.
Umar Farooq Qureshi and Ms. Samira Anjum shared insights on Mera Yuva Bharat (My Bharat), encouraging the young participants to volunteer, contribute, and lead development initiatives.
The involvement of the NSS and NCC wings of GDC Surankote added immense energy to the event, making it interactive and truly youth-centric. Their participation symbolized the significance of discipline, selfless service, and teamwork. Equally, the Literary Activities Committee of the college played an important role in extending cooperation, ensuring the workshop was well-coordinated and impactful.
The programme was graced by eminent guests who inspired the students with powerful words. Prof. Kaleem Bajran, Vice Principal of GDC Surankote and Chief Guest of the occasion, spoke about the vision of Mera Yuva Bharat and how its initiatives are designed to nurture the overall growth and leadership potential of young people. He urged students to recognize their responsibilities and channel their energies towards building a progressive society.
Adding further depth to the workshop, Mr. Muzaffar Ahmed, Chief Functionary of the Public Peace and Development Foundation, emphasized the importance of volunteerism and collective social responsibility. He highlighted the evolution of Mera Yuva Bharat from the earlier Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan and assured the youth that similar programmes will continue to be organized in Surankote, strengthening their empowerment and active participation in development processes.
The workshop concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and optimism among the participants. Students expressed gratitude to the organizers and pledged to take forward the message of empowerment, focusing on education, sports, and service to the community, while staying away from negative influences.
