early times report

UDHAMPUR, Sep 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today organised a Seva Pakhwada meeting and workshop at Udhampur under the chairmanship of Rakesh Mahajan, BJP J&K UT Vice President and In-charge Yuva Morcha.
The programme was aimed at mobilising party cadres for the upcoming Seva Pakhwada, which will be observed across the Union Territory from September 17 (Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday) to October 2 (birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri).
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Mahajan appreciated the efforts of the district team in preparing for Seva Pakhwada and called upon party cadres to work tirelessly for public welfare.
He said that the 15-day long campaign, beginning from September 17 and culminating on October 2, reflects the BJP’s ideology of “Seva hi Sangathan” (service is organisation).
Mahajan highlighted that these dates hold great significance as they connect the vision of Prime Minister Modi with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The meeting began with a welcome address by District President Arun Gupta, who extended gratitude to the senior leaders for guiding the district unit. He stressed that Seva Pakhwada should be celebrated as a people-centric campaign, highlighting BJP’s commitment to service, social responsibility, and outreach at the grassroots level.
District Prabhari Pramod Kapahi introduced the purpose of the workshop and explained the concept of Seva Pakhwada, urging all party workers to ensure maximum participation in activities like cleanliness drives, medical camps, awareness programmes, and welfare initiatives for the needy.
Addressing the gathering, DDC Member Narinder Tiwari assured Rakesh Mahajan that all upcoming events under Seva Pakhwada in Udhampur district will be organised in a well-coordinated and disciplined manner, strictly following the guidelines laid down by the leadership.
He emphasised that each Mandal unit will play an active role to make the campaign a success.
The workshop was attended by DDC Chairman Lal Chand Bhagat, District General Secretaries, district office bearers, DDC members, Mandal presidents, and their teams.
The leaders resolved to carry forward the spirit of service and strengthen the party’s connect with the people through meaningful initiatives during Seva Pakhwada.
