early times report

Jammu, Sept 12 : A delegation of Kashmiri displaced community under the aegis of Vision Kashmir organization met PCC President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra at PCC HQ here today and highlighted the demands of the community.
The delegation comprising of Shri Vimal Pandita, Hari Krishan, Sanjay ji, Bharat Pandita, Ashwani Mantoo, Raja Ji and others. They apprised Shri Karra about the various issues of displaced community before him and requested for taking up their genuine demands for early resolution by the authorities.
The main issues highlighted by the delegation included the issue of punching of NAFSA database in ration cards and pointed out grave irregularities in its format. They said that some days back the authorities have started an exercise of punching of NFSA data base in our ration cards which is full of irregularities in its format. They said that the format should have been devised from our 7 data form of our ration cards but this format seems to erase the displaced status of the members being Adhar linked and it substitute the displaced from their permanent address to the temporary address which erases his displaced status, they apprehended and demanded that the punching /integration of ration cards should be stopped for migrants/displaced community till the process of punching is rectified.
The delegation demanded that Govt. should announce a blue print for the permanent rehabilitation of the displaced community in consultation with the real stakeholders who are victims and real sufferers of displacement.
They demanded reservation of atleast 5% be announced to accommodate our backlog of 34 years in every field for our recurring loss. Besides the displaced community be given the minority status which is their fundamental right being a miniscule minority who have never got the same.
The delegation also demanded that a comprehensive compensation scheme be announced for the over aged youth, shopkeepers and agriculturists on the analogy of losses compensated to others in last 36 years of turmoil.
They further demanded that displaced community should be brought under 55 central government sponsored social welfare schemes for which only displaced has been made an exception, besides they demanded enhancement of cash assistance on war footing basis being overdue now from last 8 years, The displaced community survive on 108 rupee meagre assistance per day, which is not even sufficient to get a Kg of milk from market leave aside the rest, they asserted.
