SKUAST-Jammu to Host 10th Asian PGPR National Conference

JAMMU, Sept 12: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu in collaboration with the Asian PGPR Society and its Indian Chapter for Sustainable Agriculture is organizing the 10th Asian PGPR Conference from 15th-17th September 2025 at the Auditorium Hall of CSIR-IIM, Canal Road, Jammu. Prof. B.N. Tripathi, Vice Chancellor and Chief Patron of the conference informed that the conference will focus on the theme "Fostering PGPRs for Secondary Green Revolution towards Soil and Crop Health Management". The event will deliberate upon the role of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPRs) in sustainable agriculture, integrated disease management, artificial intelligence, omics in farming systems and commercialization strategies for PGPR technologies. The Vice Chancellor shared that the event will feature 04 keynote papers and 07 invited lectures with participation from scientists, researchers, scholars and industry professionals from across the country and abroad. Delegates are expected from states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and New Delhi along with international experts from USA, UK and Hungary. The conference will be graced by Dr. Vishnuvardhana, Vice Chancellor, University of Horticultural Sciences, Udyanagiri, Bagalkot as the Chief Guest and Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIM, Jammu as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Tripathi emphasized that the conference will provide an important platform for scientists, farmers, and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations, and chart out a roadmap for advancing sustainable agriculture through PGPR-based innovations.
