| DAV Players’ outshine in Maharaja Ranjit Singh Cup | | |  Early Times Report
Amritsar, Sept 13: Four players of DAV College Amritsar have been selected for prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh T20 Cup being organized by Punjab Cricket Association. In these matches, Sahil Arora, Abhay Chaudhary, Asim Kohli and Sumit Sharma will be seen displaying their brilliant batting and fielding experiences.
The college Principal Dr. Amardeep Gupta congratulated these players as well as the Head of Physical Education Department Dr. BB Yadav and coach Rajan Gill, under whose guidance these players are doing their best.Dr. Gupta said that this program is being hosted by Punjab Cricket Association. This premier T20 tournament is going on from 7 September to 15 September at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. This important competition is proving to be an important platform for the preparation, skill development and talent identification of the players.
Head of the Department Dr B B Yadav said that six strong teams are participating in this tournament and the matches will be played in league format. There will be two matches every day from 7 to 13 September. The top teams will qualify for the finals, which will be played on 15 September. This event is even more special because special attention has been given to mentorship in this year’s competition. Former Punjab and India players Siddharth Kaul, Gurkeerat Mann and Barinder Sran will join the teams and share their experience. They will be supported by experienced coaches Bharti Vij and Sunil Saggi.
