PM Modi writing golden chapter of J&K history: Rohiin Chandan
9/14/2025 7:06:12 PM

early times report

Jammu, Sept 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rohiin Chandan lauded the remarkable transformation that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed since 2014 under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. Highlighting the significant progress across the region, Chandan emphasized that PM Modi’s firm policies and inclusive vision have ushered in a new era of peace, development, and prosperity, laying the foundation for a truly Naya Jammu and Kashmir.
He emphasized that the removal of discriminatory laws has empowered women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other marginalized sections who were previously denied rights. Women now have the right to inherit property regardless of whom they marry. Valmikis, once restricted to sanitation jobs, can now pursue professions of their choice. West Pakistan refugees, previously denied permanent residency, have finally been recognized as equal citizens. This inclusive framework reflects PM Modi’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.
Chandan recalled how, upon assuming office in 2014, Prime Minister Modi made it clear that separatists and their supporters would find no space in Jammu and Kashmir. This firm stance paved the way for a historic shift in the region, long troubled by unrest and instability. “During Modi’s first term (2014–2019), the groundwork for a peaceful and progressive Jammu and Kashmir was laid through decisive governance, inclusive policies, and a strong commitment to national integration,” Chandan stated.
He highlighted that in the last 11 years of good governance numerous infrastructure initiatives that were once stalled have now become a reality. Roads, tunnels, bridges, and highways have drastically reduced distances and connected previously remote areas like never before. A shining example is the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River, which, along with the newly operational train to Kashmir, symbolizes this new era of connectivity.
“The Modi-led government is scripting a golden chapter in Jammu and Kashmir’s history by aligning the region with India’s broader vision of unity and development,” said Chandan. He praised the sustained efforts to ensure peace and prosperity, emphasizing that these initiatives continue to bring hope and stability to the people.
As Jammu and Kashmir continues on its path of transformation, Rohiin Chandan reiterated that the Modi-led government remains committed to sustaining this momentum, ensuring that the region emerges as a shining example of peace, progress, and prosperity.
