Dogra Degree College celebrates Hindi Diwas

Jammu, Sept 15: The Literary Club of Dogra Degree College celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm on September 15, 2025, in the Multipurpose Hall of the college. The event aimed to highlight the richness of the Hindi language and instill pride in students about India’s linguistic heritage.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Aditi Khajuria, IQAC Coordinator, who set the tone for the celebration by emphasizing the cultural significance of Hindi.
The special guest, Ms. Indu Puri, Senior Lecturer in Hindi, Dogra College of Education, inspired the gathering with her insightful words on the importance of Hindi as a unifying force in the nation’s identity. She highlighted how the language not only connects people but also carries the essence of India’s traditions and values.
Following this, students showcased their talent and love for Hindi through a Poem Recitation Competition. Participants included Tamanna, Khusboo, Paras, Prairita, Urvashi, Muskan, Kashish, Bhargavi, Divyanshi, and Kajal, who enthralled the audience with their expressive renditions of poems that celebrated the beauty and depth of the language.
Principal Dr. Bela Thakur appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to continue embracing Hindi with pride, reminding them that the language is a key to cultural preservation and progress.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Pranika Gupta, Convener of the Literary Club, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and the audience for making the event a memorable one.
The celebration successfully reflected the importance of Hindi as more than just a language, but as a symbol of unity, identity, and cultural pride.
