Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 15: Today, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, MLA of Bahu, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Bawe Wali Mata Mandir at Bahu Fort to review ongoing preparations for the upcoming Navratri festival. He was accompanied by senior officials from Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Power Development Department (PDD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Smart City, Floriculture, Public Works Department (PWD), Tehsildar Bahu, SHO Bahu Fort, In charge Police Post Bawe Mandir, and other concerned allied departments.
Also present during the visit were the President of Bawe Wali Mata Market Association, former corporator, and several prominent local residents who actively participated in the review and shared feedback regarding improvements needed in the area.
MLA Randhawa directed all departments to work at 100% efficiency during the Navratri period. Special instructions were given to PDD and PHE to provide 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply and PHE to guarantee continuous water availability.
He further instructed departments to spare no effort in the beautification of the temple and its surroundings-ensuring clean, welcoming, and well lit environs-with special attention to landscaping, lighting, signage, pathways, and cleanliness.
Security, traffic, sanitation, crowd management, emergency readiness and coordination among departments were also flagged as areas demanding close monitoring and exacting standards.
"Navratras are a time of immense spiritual importance, drawing thousands of devotees from across the region. It is our joint responsibility to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. I urge all departments and citizens to work hand-in-hand in the true spirit of service and devotion. With active support from locals, market associations, and civic bodies, we are confident of making this Navratri peaceful and memorable for all."
MLA Randhawa called upon the public to cooperate with authorities during the festival period, maintain cleanliness, and follow directions to ensure a smooth, safe and spiritually fulfilling experience for all devotees.
