REASI, Sept 16: District Police Reasi achieved a breakthrough in a vehicle theft case by arresting an accused person and recovering the stolen scooty.
On 04th May 2025, a complaint regarding the theft of a scooty Activa bearing registration number JK14F/4237 was received at Police Post Kakryal. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 130/2025 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the team of Police Post Kakryal led by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria succeeded in arresting one accused person namely Deepak Kumar S/O Bodh Raj R/O Sirah Kotla, Katra, Reasi
On his disclosure, the stolen scooty was recovered from the possession of another person, a scrap merchant namely Mohd Ashraf S/O Jamal Din R/O Maslote, Thuroo, Reasi was also arrested under relevant sections.
The swift action of Reasi Police not only led to the arrest of the main accused but also to the recovery of the stolen property. Further investigation in the case is underway to ascertain the involvement of others, if any.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS.
