GDC Sunderbani organises Seva Parv programme

Sunderbani, Sept 17: Govt. Degree College, Sunderbani organized the Seva Parv programme with great zeal and enthusiasm in collaboration with Paryavaran Suraksha Samiti, Siot to celebrate the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The event highlighted the values of service, environmental protection, and community responsibility.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA, Thakur Randhir Singh, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that the ideals of Seva Parv resonate with the vision of Prime Minister Modi Ji, focusing on service to society, sustainable development, and collective responsibility.
The celebration began with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Verma, Principal, Government Degree College, Sunderbani. She extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and participants and encouraged students and community members to contribute actively towards environmental protection and nation-building.
The event was further graced by Guest of Honour, Shri Ravinder Raina, Former MLA and Former President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir. In his speech, he recalled the contributions of Prime Minister Modi Ji and inspired the gathering to imbibe the values of dedication, service, and patriotism.
Several eminent members of society, local leaders, and social activists were also present on the occasion, reflecting the community’s strong commitment to the cause. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr, Rakesh Kumar, Faculty member of the institution.
As part of the celebration, a plantation drive was conducted in the college premises. Dignitaries, faculty members, and students actively participated in planting saplings, symbolizing their pledge to conserve the environment and promote a greener tomorrow.
The event also witnessed a book collection and donation drive, where books were gathered and distributed to needy students. This noble gesture highlighted the true spirit of Seva Parv—extending support to the underprivileged and promoting education for all.
The programme also featured awareness talks, and interactive sessions focusing on cleanliness, eco-friendly practices, and community service. Members of Paryavaran Suraksha Samiti , Siot reaffirmed their dedication to ecological conservation and social upliftment.
In this event a felicitation programme was also organized to recognize the immense contribution of the officials of various departments of Sunderbani. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Vijay Sharma member Paryavaran Suraksha Samiti, Siot, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries and participants. The inauguration of Seva Parv not only marked the birthday celebration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji but also reinforced the message of service, unity, and environmental stewardship.
