Jammu, Sept 17: To Commemorate Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations, GDC Majalta organized an online quiz competition on the topic “Life and Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi” under the able guidance of the Esteemed Principal of the College Dr. Shalini Sharma on 17-09-2025.
The event aimed at spreading awareness among students about the values, ideas, and principles of the Father of the Nation and to inspire them to imbibe his teachings in their daily lives.
A large number of students from different semesters actively participated in the competition. The quiz consisted of multiple-choice questions covering important aspects of Mahatma Gandhi’s life, his struggle for India’s independence, and his philosophy of truth, non-violence, and simplicity.
The event was conducted smoothly with the support of the organizing committee included Prof. Kamal Jeet HOD Hindi, Prof Anuradha Chowdhary HOD Education and Prof. Palak HoD Maths The participants enthusiastically engaged with the questions. The winners were acknowledged for their performance and encouraged to continue their learning about Gandhi’s contributions to society. Meenakshi Thakur of Sem. Ist, Isha Rani of Sem. 3rd and Tanisha Devi of Sem. Ist, got Ist, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
The Principal appreciated the efforts of both the students and the organizers, emphasizing that Gandhiji’s principles remain highly relevant in today’s world. She encouraged the students to practice the values of honesty, peace, and tolerance in their personal and professional lives.
Overall, the online quiz competition was a great success, not only testing the knowledge of the participants but also reinforcing the timeless values of Mahatma Gandhi.
