GDC Vijaypur organised Organ Donation pledge drive collaboration with SOTTO

vijaypur, Sept. 17 : Government Degree College Vijaypur organised Organ Donation Pledge Drive in collaboration with State organ and tissue transplant organization (SOTTO), J&K. The event was conducted under the able supervision of Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of Government Degree College, Vijaypur. The event commenced with the welcome address by Ms. Manisha Bharti, lecturer, Computer Applications in which she welcomed the staff, students and the resource person. The resource person of the event was, Ms. Anshu Sharma, Consultant (IEC/Media), State organ and tissue transplant organization (SOTTO), J&K.
She raised awareness among staff and students regarding the importance of organ donation and encouraged individuals to pledge as donors. The event highlighted the urgent need for organ and tissue donors, with thousands of patients across the country waiting for life- saving transplants. Participants were reminded that a single donor can save up to eight lives and improve the quality of life for many others.
The other Highlights of the Drive included:
• Awareness Sessions: The guest speaker addressed common myths and explained the life saving impact of organ donation.
• Pledge: Attendees register for pledge on the National Portal of Government of India (notto.abdm.gov.in) by using linked Aadhaar number with mobile number.
The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English.
The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Manisha Bharti and all the faculty members by, Prof. Anita Jamwal Associate Professor, Dept, of Political Science, Prof. Mamta Gupta, Associate Professor, Dept. of Commerce, Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat, Associate Professor, Dept. of Sociology, Dr. Manoj Heer, Assistant Professor, Dept of Dogri and Others.
