KVK Reasi organises Swachhata Hi Seva campaign

REASI, Sept 19: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted Swachhata Hi Seva campaign here at KVK Reasi campus which was attended by the staff members and local people of the area. The campaign has been continued from 17th of September to 2nd October 2025 across the nation. The campaign on cleanness derive has been organised under the able guidance of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.B.N.Tripathi and Director Extension (DE) ,Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J. The major objective of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is to spread the message of cleanliness derive to every nook and corner of the country and involve more and more people in this national campaign so that the country can be seen as neat and clean. The programme was started by Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi,Dr.Banarsi Lal.He said that Swachhata Hi Seva is a flagship programme of the Government of India to clean the vicinities so that the national drive of clean India can be made successful. He said that this campaign is India's biggest cleanness drive which was formally launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India; Sh. Narinder Modi on 2nd of October 2014.He said that this noble mission will be successful only when all the citizens of the country participate in the cleanness drive. He discussed on cleanliness and hygiene. He also discussed on the collection and disposal of single use plastic and gave a detail view of plastic pollution. He added that Gandhiji always wanted to make sanitation a priority in the whole nation.He urged the participants to aware more and more people of the district about this derive to keep their towns, villages, campuses, temples, mosques, Panchayat Ghar, schools etc. clean and green and emphasised on the cleaning of drinking water areas, toilets, crop fields etc. He said the participants that this campaign can reduce disease infestation in human beings, animals and crops. He requested the participants to disseminate this message of cleanliness and hygiene to the other people of the area and suggested them to participate in this clean India campaign with full enthuse. He said that India will be healthy only when the villages will be healthy and further added that the village Sarpanches, Panches and village teachers should be involved in this derive.He stressed on the plantation of more and more of plants so that a healthy environment can be created. The scientist also explained the techniques for solid and liquid wastes management in the rural areas and suggested the participants to be committed towards cleanness derive and urged them to fully involve in this drive of cleanness. Dr.Banarsi led the employees of the KVK along with the staff and local participated in the cleanness derive and they cleaned the official buildings, toilets of campus,fields and units etc. at KVK.
