| Unauthorized Pithu operator nabbed on SMVD Track, FIR registered | | |

Reasi, Sept 30: In view of the heightened security arrangements implemented for the ongoing Navratras, a police party from Police Post Banganga, while patrolling the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) track, intercepted one person near Bathing Ghat No. 02, Ban Ganga for routine checking.
During questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Kulwinder Singh S/O Kartar Singh R/O Maslote, Tehsil Thuroo, District Reasi. He was found working as a Pithu Carrier on the SMVD track. When asked to produce a valid service card or license for working as a registered Pony/Pithu operator, he failed to do so and admitted that he had no authorization to carry out such activity.
By operating without an authorized service card, the accused had violated the notification issued by the SDM Katra regarding regulation of Pithu/Pony services on the track.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 270/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS stands registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is in progress.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra Insp Khyatiman Khajuira, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Sh Vipan Chandran.
SSP Reasi Sh Paramvir Singh stated that strict action will be taken against anyone violating the SDM Katra notification. Unauthorized operators on the SMVD track will not be spared and law will deal firmly with such violators.
