Jammu, Oct 2: Indian United Rajput Federation (IURF) to Host Annual Shastra Puja Celebration on 3 Oct.
Community members invited to participate in the ancient tradition of worshiping tools and weapons on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami
In observance of the auspicious festival of Vijayadashami IURF today held its annual Shastra Puja ceremony at IURF head office, Tallab Tillo Jammu.
On the occassion, Vikramjeet Singh Manhas (President IURF) said that Shastra Puja is a deep-rooted tradition that dates back to ancient India. The ceremony honors all tools and implements of one's trade, from weapons used for protection to instruments of craft and knowledge. It is a time to seek divine blessings for strength, success, and the righteous use of one's power, following the victory of good over evil symbolized by Lord Rama's triumph over Ravana.
“This tradition reminds us of our responsibility to use our tools and skills for the greater good. It is a moment for reflection and to reaffirm our commitment to upholding integrity and justice in all our endeavors.” said Manhas.
The ceremony will begin with a cleansing ritual, followed by the worship of the tools and equipment used by the attendees. A special prayer will be offered to Goddesses Saraswati (knowledge), Lakshmi (prosperity), and Parvati (strength) to bless all participants and their work.
Karandeep Singh Thakur (Vice President), Bupinder Singh Jamwal (Gen. Secy), Rajveer Singh Manhas, Bhanu Partap Singh, Dharv, Danish Chib, Vansh Chib, Rajeev Singh, Tanveer Salaria, Ridham Singh, Vikram Singh Katal and other were also present.
