KVK Reasi organises Live Telecast of PM-Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY)

Reasi, Oct 12: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised live telecast programme on Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana(PM-DDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses here at KVK Reasi campus which was attended by number of farmers of the area.
The programme was organized under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof.B.N.Tripathi and guidance of Director Extension, Prof.Amrish Vaid of SKUAST-J.During the programme Hon’ble Prime Minister,Sh.Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana(PM-DDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses at IARI,New Delhi with an outlay of more than 35 thousand crore rupees.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Horticulture Officer,Sh.Rajinder Kumar Sharma as the Chief Guest.He visited the different stalls exhibited at KVK and appreciated the efforts of farmers for commercial farming.He appreciated the efforts of KVK for promotion of different technologies in the area.
He stressed on the cultivation of lemon and dragon fruit farming in monkeys prone area and created awareness on various schemes undergoing in the district.
He stressed on value addition in crops and guided farmers on PM-DDKY scheme. He also discussed on women empowerment and stressed on marketing of SHGs products.
He applauded the efforts of KVK Reasi for the welfare of farmers.Earlier Chief Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal warmly welcomed the participants and briefed the objective of the programme.
He elaborated the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana(PM-DDKY) and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.
He guided farmers on scientific cultivation of pulses and stressed on quality seeds and other agro- inputs to increase the crop quality and production. He also spoke on various other agril. schemes and gave a detail view on scientific agriculture. He stressed on commercial agriculture and guided farmers on organic formulations for more profits.He elaborated the scientific farming for enhancing the farmers’ income and stressed on SHGs/FPOs for more profits.He also discussed on monkeys menace management and emphasized on spices and marigold cultivation.Dr.Lalit Upadhyay,Dr.Sanjay Koushal,Dr.Jagdish Kumar and Dr.Arvinder Kumar also spoke during the event.Participants thanked Hon’ble PM, Sh.Narender Modi for their financial support for agricultural development.Sarpanches of the area,Sh.Sukhdev Singh and Sh.Bodh Raj also spoke during the event and thanked KVK Reasi for providing the technical support to the farmers.During the programme line departments and SHGs also displayed their exhibition which were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest and farmers.During the programme progressive farmers were also awarded by the dignitaries. The proceedings of the programme were carried by Dr.Jagdish Kumar.The programme was assisted by Sh.Rakesh Kundal,Sh.Manohar Lal, Sh.Mohd.Iqbal, Sh.Summer Qureshi and concluded by Dr.Arvinder Kumar with formal vote of thanks.
