early times report

Jammu, Oct 13: In a swift and determined action, Jammu Police have successfully apprehended the two main accused in a brutal murder case reported from Simbal Camp, Miran Sahib. The arrests were made within hours of the incident, reflecting the department’s unwavering commitment to justice and public safety.
On 09.10.2025, an FIR No. 133/2025 under sections 109/126(2)/191(2) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib following a complaint from Harbhajan Kour, wife of the deceased Narinder Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp, Ward No. 01.
As per the complaint, Narinder Singh was grievously assaulted by Tanveer Singh @ Kalu and Bavneet Singh @ Babby, along with their family members. The victim was immediately rushed to GMC Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead. Section 103/BNS (Murder) was accordingly added to the case. After completing medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the legal heirs for last rites. Taking prompt cognizance of the heinous crime, a police team led by SHO P/S Miran Sahib, Inspector Azad Ahmed, under the close supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura, Sh. Gurmeet Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu Sh. Irshad H. Rather-JKPS, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS, launched an extensive manhunt to track down the accused. The team worked on multiple leads, raided several hideouts across Jammu and adjoining districts, and developed actionable intelligence.
Acting on credible information, the police team succeeded in arresting the two prime accused — Tanveer Singh and Bavneet Singh, both sons of Ranjeet Singh, residents of Simbal Camp, Miran Sahib, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu. The duo had fled to Punjab after committing the crime. A well-coordinated operation led to their successful apprehension. The arrested individuals are currently under police custody for further interrogation.
Investigating team is actively investigating the role of other accomplices, including the family members of the accused, who may have supported and facilitated the commission of this crime. Efforts are ongoing to identify and bring all involved to justice.
Jammu Police reiterates its firm stance against crime and assures the public of its continued vigilance and swift action.
