NCC Army attachment camp underway at Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 13: The NCC Army Attachment Camp under the aegis of Chinar Corps began on 06 October 2025 at Somgarh Military Station (Old Air Field) Srinagar, marking a significant initiative in youth engagement and national integration in Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 117 cadets including 80 boy cadets and 37 girl cadets from Kashmir & Jammu regions belonging to four different NCC Battalions are participating in this camp. The Army Attachment Camp has been coordinated by 9 J&K Girls Battalion under the aegis of JK&L Dte showcasing the zeal and commitment of the youth towards nation building.
This meticulously planned twelve days Army Attachment Camp is being conducted by the Chinar AD Brigade. It aims to provide cadets with first-hand exposure to the structure, training protocols, capabilities of the Indian Army and its core values of courage, camaraderie and selfless service. It is designed not only to instil discipline and leadership in the youth but also to give participants an insight about the Army way of life and career options in the Armed Forces.
During the camp, cadets are engaged in a rigorous training schedule that includes drill practice, physical training, leadership and discipline lectures, weapon familiarisation, educational visits to various Army units thus giving them an opportunity to interact with Army personnel.
In his inaugural address, the Commander of the Chinar AD Brigade emphasized the values of responsibility, unity, and courage. He urged cadets to uphold the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline” and inspired them to become good citizens as they are the future of the Nation.
Under the guidance of skilled and experienced Army instructors, cadets are receiving practical insights into military life, equipment handling, and operations, all within a safe and controlled environment.
