IIM collaborates with GDC Paloura to host Workshop on Innovative Bootcamps

Jammu, Oct 13: Innovation incubation cell, GDC Paloura, Jammu under the patronage of Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal GDC Paloura, in a dynamic effort to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical industry skills, in collaboration with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Innovative Bootcamps”
The workshop brought together students, faculty members, and industry professionals to explore the potential of bootcamps as accelerated, immersive learning models aimed at enhancing employability and entrepreneurial thinking. The event was part of a broader initiative to promote experiential learning, innovation, and skill development among students.
Dr. Rajat gupta in his welcome address emphasized the importance of bootcamps in modern education, stating, “Traditional academic frameworks must evolve. Bootcamps offer a fast-paced, application-oriented model that equips students for real-world challenges.”
The resource person of the event was Mr. Vivek Sharma (chief Innovation officer, IIM Jammu), he in his address gave importance on Understanding the Bootcamp Model Designing, Industry-Integrated Learning Experiences, Entrepreneurship through Innovation Bootcamps ,Student Success Stories from Bootcamp Graduates.
Mr. Kannav Padha, Manager, DST–iTBI; and Ms. Druvi Sharma, Deputy Manager, DST–iTBI guided students through various stages of innovation, design thinking, and startup development.
The program was also graced by Mr. Keshav Singh Bhau, Founder of Organic Jammu, who shared his entrepreneurial journey, explaining how innovative ideas can evolve into successful startups and how various government agencies can support and fund such initiatives.
Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of the Internal Incubation Cell and the collaboration with IIM Jammu, emphasizing that such bootcamps are crucial in nurturing innovative thinking and preparing students for entrepreneurial challenges.
The event was organized by Prof. Vijay Kumari (Convener, Internal Incubation Cell, GDC Paloura), Prof. Neha Bhagat, Dr. Roshi Sharma, Dr. Rajat Gupta, and Prof. Soom. Raj.The vote thanks was presented by Prof. Soom Raj. The occasion was graced by Prof B. L Thakur, Prof Amit Bhalla, Dr. Usha Rani, Dr. Chinmei Sharma. Prof Neha, Dr. Skinder, Prof Vikram, Prof. Renuka.
