YCET celebrates "Diwali Utsav 2K25" with Festive Spirit, Unity, and Eco-Friendly Message

JAMMU, Oct 18: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) celebrated Diwali Utsav 2K25 with immense enthusiasm, joy, and cultural vibrance on 17th October 2025. The college campus was beautifully illuminated with diyas, lights, and colorful decorations, spreading warmth and happiness throughout.
The event was graced by Nidhi Jamwal, Chief Coordinator, IMS Jammu as the chief guest of the occasion. Meenakshi Sharma, Director of IMS Jammu, along with staff members from IMS Jammu, also attended the celebration and shared the festive joy with the YCET family. Their presence added prestige and inspiration to the occasion.
The cultural events began with a welcome address by Er. Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics, YCET, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. He appreciated the enthusiasm of students and faculty in organizing the first-ever grand Diwali celebration at YCET and highlighted the importance of celebrating festivals with unity and environmental consciousness.
The celebration began with a range of creative competitions including Rangoli Making, Thali Decoration, Greeting Card Making, Reel Making, and Cooking without Fire. Students from various departments showcased exceptional creativity, innovation, and festive spirit.
The Rangoli Competition featured vibrant, eco-friendly designs using flowers, natural colors, and diyas.
The Thali Decoration Competition reflected devotion and craftsmanship through beautifully designed pooja thalis.
The Greeting Card Making Competition promoted sustainable creativity through recycled materials and thoughtful designs.
The Reel Making Competition added modern and expressive elements to the festivities.
The Cooking without Fire Competition encouraged safe, healthy, and innovative cooking methods.
Following the competitions, an enthralling cultural program was held, featuring ramp walk, dance, singing, and instrumental performances.
The Ramp Walk stood out as the highlight of the event, with students showcasing traditional attire and confidence.
The Dance and Singing Performances filled the air with rhythm, melody, and festive energy.
The Instrumental Acts added a soulful and soothing charm to the evening.
The dignitaries appreciated the students for their active participation and creativity. They lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and encouraged everyone to celebrate Diwali with unity, cultural harmony, and environmental consciousness. They also emphasized the importance of an eco-friendly Diwali, promoting the use of diyas and natural decorations while discouraging firecrackers to protect the environment.
The fest concluded with an exciting Prize Distribution Ceremony, celebrating the spirit of talent, creativity, and teamwork. Winners of various competitions such as Rangoli, Ramp Walk, Singing, Dancing, and other cultural and technical events were felicitated with trophies and certificates. The dignitaries present - Ms. Nidhi Jamwal (Chief Coordinator, IMS Jammu), Meenakshi Sharma (Director, IMS Jammu), and Er. Dinesh Gupta (Dean Academics, YCET Jammu) - honoured the winners and appreciated the enthusiasm of all participants.
At last, the Vote of Thanks was presented by Er. Rajneesh Magotra, HoD Civil Engineering, on behalf of the organizing committee and the entire YCET family. He extended heartfelt gratitude to Nidhi Jamwal, Chief Coordinator, IMS Jammu, and Meenakshi Sharma, Director, IMS Jammu, for their gracious presence and inspiring words that motivated all.
On this joyous occasion, the Director YCET, Chief Coordinator YCET, and the Management extended their heartfelt wishes to all students, faculty, and staff for a happy, prosperous, and eco-friendly Diwali. They encouraged everyone to celebrate the festival with joy, harmony, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
With that, Diwali Utsav 2K25 concluded with smiles, unity, and pride, spreading the true message of joy, harmony, and eco-friendly festivity across the YCET campus.
