Choudhary, Gupta step Up Campaign in Nagrota
10/25/2025 6:17:27 PM

early times report

Jammu, Oct 25: Continuing its high-paced campaign, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) provincial leadership held a series of public meetings across the Nagrota constituency, urging voters to elect Shamim Begum on the strength of the party’s proven development record and its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the region’s unique identity.
Leading the campaign, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary addressed multiple gatherings at Panchayat Dansal, Badsoo, Kanyala (Kahpota), Kanyala (Patha), Jindrah Upper, Jindrah Market and Nagola in Dhansal Block. Among others senior leader and Provincial President Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta, party candidate Shamim Begum, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Kuldeep Sharma also addressed the public.
The leaders highlighted the good governance and extensive public outreach of the Omar Abdullah-led government, emphasizing its pro-Jammu initiatives, including the restoration of the Darbar Move, and the administration’s responsive approach during the recent calamity.
Addressing the gatherings, Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary said that Omar Abdullah’s year-long tenure has been marked by the restoration of public faith in democracy and institutions that had been eroded under the undemocratic and indirect rule of the BJP over the past seven years.
“The biggest achievement of the Omar Abdullah-led government has been opening up the corridors of power to the common people, who were earlier denied a say in their own development,” Choudhary said. “During our first budget, extensive deliberations were held with Jammu traders, legislators from across parties, and the common public. The restoration of the Darbar Move has also boosted trade and commerce in the region. The Omar Abdullah government has brought far-flung areas like Nagrota back on the path of progress. Whatever infrastructure exists in Nagrota today was established during our previous NC government. In the coming years, we will further invest in roads, education, and health, taking Nagrota to new heights. Shameem Ji’s victory will further strengthen our hands.”
In his address, Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed the National Conference’s commitment to fulfilling every promise in its manifesto.
“Restoration of statehood is the first step toward reclaiming our abridged rights,” Gupta said. “Despite hurdles, Omar Abdullah’s government is making significant strides across all sectors, and Jammu is now on the development radar like never before. With equal representation in the Cabinet, Jammu is progressing shoulder to shoulder with Kashmir. Shamim Ji’s victory will be another feather in our cap and will further empower our efforts.”
Shamim Begum Candidate bye election in Nagrota Assembly Constituency said that there is a clear wave in favour of the National Conference in Nagrota Constituency.
“People see a ray of hope in Omar Abdullah and his team,” Shamim said. “Our party’s rank and file are acting as a vital link between the government, the party, and the people. She highlighted the Omar Abdullah led Govt’s performance and commitment to inclusive development. I am serving the people at my level best as a DDC and I am urging the people to vote and support keeping in view of my performance of five years.
