Miran Sahib Police arrested drug peddler, heroin recovered

Jammu, Nov 4: In a determined and strategic move to clamp down on the rising threat of narcotics in the region, the Miran Sahib Police Station has scored one more success by apprehending a known drug peddler and seizing a significant quantity of contraband. The arrest underscores the police department's continued efforts to root out the drug trade and protect the community from its harmful impact.
The operation, led by a vigilant team from Police Station Miran Sahib, resulted in the arrest of Murad ali s/o Nek alam R/o Kadyal R.S.Pura,District jammu was apprehended at Tinday kalan and recovery of approximately 29.60 grams heroine like substance from his possession.”
This marks a notable seizure in the ongoing crackdown on illicit drug trafficking in the area.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 143/2025, in accordance with Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act, and a detailed investigation has been launched. The police is currently pursuing leads to uncover both the backward and forward links of the accused, which may include suppliers and other individuals connected to the drug network. This investigation aims to dismantle the wider chain of narcotic distribution operating in and around the region.
Inspector Azad Manhas, SHO Police Station Miran Sahib leads the Police team under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu that leads to successful operation and ensured immediate legal action was initiated against the accused.
The Jammu & Kashmir Police appeals to the citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drugs in their locality. The success of this operation reaffirms the department's pledge to maintain law and order, and to lead from the front in the fight against drug abuse. The war on drugs continues—with stronger resolve and community cooperation.
