REASI, Nov 28: In a major action against drug trafficking, District Police Reasi today apprehended four individuals and recovered 8.2 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession during routine checking.
A Van (JK08B-0490) driven by Joginder Singh S/O Kashmir Singh R/O Tareru, Kalakote, Rajouri, coming from Panthal towards Katra, was intercepted by police at Searli Check Post.
During checking, three other persons were found boarding the vehicle, who disclosed their identities as:
1. Mohd. Fareed S/O Munshi Khan R/O Dhraman, Kotranka, Rajouri
2. Mohd. Yasir S/O Mohd Qayoom R/O Dhraman, Kotranka, Rajouri
3. Altaf Hussain S/O Noor Hussain R/O Targain, Kotranka, Rajouri
Upon their personal search, police recovered 8.2 grams of heroin (Chitta) from their possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 317/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. All four accused have been arrested and the vehicle has also been seized. The entire operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS.
