ADG Armed reviews functioning of IRP 18th Battalion at District Police Lines: Facilities inaugurated

JAMMU, Jan 23: Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General (Armed), J&K, conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of IRP 18th Battalion stationed at District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu. He was accompanied by Vinod Kumar, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, IRP Jammu, and Shri Rajinder Singh, SSP APCR Jammu. Upon his arrival, Jain was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a contingent of IRP 18th Battalion. He thereafter undertook an extensive inspection of the battalion premises and reviewed its overall administrative, logistical, and operational preparedness.
During the inspection, the ADG Armed examined the battalion main office, jawans' barracks, Motor Transport (MT) section, kote, and other allied offices of the unit. He also reviewed the functioning of the wet and dry canteens and appreciated the arrangements made for the welfare and daily needs of the personnel.
A Darbar was held on the occasion, during which Jain interacted with the personnel and patiently listened to their grievances and service-related issues. He assured them that all genuine concerns relating to welfare and service conditions would be examined and addressed on priority.
During the visit, Jain also attended the rank ceremony of newly promoted Selection Grade Constables (SgCts). Congratulating the promotees, he exhorted upon them to discharge their duties with renewed zeal, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
On the occasion, ADG Armed inaugurated a newly established CCTV Control Room and a newly constructed staircase within the battalion premises, and newly prepared ground marking further augmentation of infrastructure and security arrangements.
He emphasized the need for constant vigilance against drug abuse and encouraged all ranks to undergo training courses to enhance professional efficiency.
Raj Singh Goria, SSP Commandant, IRP 18th Battalion, along with other officers, were present on the occasion.
