Synergetic GWF NGO organizes awareness programme on World Cancer Day

Akhnoor, Feb 4: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (NGO) organized a special awareness programme today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor. The objective of the programme was to spread awareness among girls and women about cancer, especially breast cancer and vaginal/cervical cancer.
The programme was graced by renowned doctor Dr. Preeti Sharma as the Chief Guest, while Mrs. Meenu Bali, Vice Principal of the school, was present as the Guest of Honour.
The programme began with an address by Rabia Khajuria, who emphasized in her speech,
“There is no need to fear cancer; there is a need to be aware. With timely information and proper screening, this disease can be fought successfully.”
On this occasion, Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of the NGO, shared detailed information about the organization’s activities. She highlighted how the NGO continuously works on issues related to health, hygiene, and social awareness. She also laid special emphasis on the importance of maintaining proper hygiene for women.
The main focus of the programme was breast cancer and vaginal/cervical cancer. Dr. Preeti Sharma interacted with the students and female staff, providing detailed information on symptoms, preventive measures, correct methods of self-examination, and the importance of regular health check-ups. She stressed that if any abnormal symptoms are noticed, one should consult a doctor without delay.
At the conclusion of the programme, Vice Principal Mrs. Meenu Bali expressed her gratitude to Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation and stated,
“This programme was extremely important and timely for students and women. Such awareness can save many lives in the future.”
Finally, Rabia Khajuria presented the vote of thanks and delivered a powerful message. She urged all women to take a pledge that.
“Every woman will motivate at least two other women to spread cancer awareness, so that no woman or girl loses her life while fighting this disease.”
The programme concluded with a strong message of awareness, unity, and empowerment.
