early times report

Jammu, Feb 10: IGNOU has launched an MA Programme in Human Values and Ethics (MAHUE) which is being offered in the ongoing January 2026 admission cycle. The MAHUE is a 2-year MA programme designed to foster ethical awareness, value-based decision-making, and responsible leadership in line with NEP 2020. It covers topics like bioethics, social ethics, and professional conduct, preparing graduates for roles in compliance, CSR, and policy.
The key objective of the programme is to integrate ethical principles into personal and professional life, fostering responsible leadership. It focuses on human values, ethics in professional practices, social responsibilities, and sometimes includes components on sustainable living and emotional intelligence.
The learners after completing the programme can work as Ethics Officers, Sustainability Consultants, CSR Managers, or in HR and policy-making roles. MAHUE programme focuses on broader ethical principles for society, leadership, and personal growth and is a blend of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) with global ethical perspectives, offering a well-rounded foundation for value-driven leadership.
“The MAHUE programme will play a pivotal role in creating "responsible citizens" and ethical leaders capable of navigating complex challenges in governance, corporate sectors, and research and the affordable and learner-centric design makes it accessible to working professionals who wish skill advancement without leaving their jobs”, said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, Regional Centre Jammu.
