Mega Aadhaar MBU drive 2.0 launched across J&K

JAMMU, Mar 23: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), in association with the Information Technology Department, J&K and Project Samagra Shiksha, School Education Department, J&K has launched Mega Aadhaar Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) drive 2.0 across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The drive has commenced from March 23, 2026 in winter zone schools while for schools in summer zones, it will begin from April 1, 2026 onwards. This large-scale initiative aims to cover 2,382 identified schools and provide Aadhaar biometric update services to over 2 lakh studentsof Jammu & Kashmir within school premises.
This initiative builds upon the success of the earlier MBU drive conducted from September to 31st December 2025, during which approximately 1.5 lakh students successfully updated their biometrics.
Despite this progress, around 3.5 lakh children still require mandatory biometric updates, necessitating the continuation of the mission mode approach.
