LPU Granted Prestigious 12(B) Status by the University Grants Commission

JALANDHAR, Apr 23: Lovely Professional University has been granted the prestigious UGC 12(B) status under the UGC Act, 1956. The approval accorded at the 596th meeting of the University Grants Commission, following a rigorous evaluation by an expert committee assessing the university's quality standards. The conferment of UGC 12(B) status stands as a strong endorsement of LPU's consistent commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation, reflecting the collective efforts of its faculty, researchers, and students.
UGC 12B status grants universities eligibility to receive central government funding and research grants, enhancing their credibility, infrastructure and ability to attract quality staff and students. It elevates the university's prestige, enabling it to offer recognized degrees, conduct research, Infrastructure development and foster academic growth through financial support. It further boosting the university's reputation among peers and ensuring trust among students and parents. It also acts as a testament to the University's academic standards, making it better positioned for international collaborations.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, "It is a matter of great satisfaction that LPU has been granted the UGC 12(B) status.
