RAMBAN, May 12: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing "Nasha Mukt Abhiyan", District Police Ramban achieved another success by apprehending one person with a heroin like substance at Dharamkund. Today, on receipt of reliable information, a police team of Police Station Dharamkund established a naka near PS Dharamkund on the link road leading towards the Police Station. During naka checking, one person identified as Muneer Ahmad Khan S/O Ali Khan R/O Parthmulla Gool, Tehsil Gool, District Ramban, was intercepted and apprehended by the police party.
Thereafter, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class (EMIC) Ramban, his personal search was conducted during which a heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 07/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dharamkund and investigation has been initiated.
The arrest and recovery were made by the police team under the leadership of SHO PS Dharamkund, Insp. Joginder Singh Chib, under the supervision of SDPO Gool and overall supervision of SSP Ramban Sh. Arun Gupta.
District Police Ramban reiterates its commitment towards eradicating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing information related to drug peddling and substance abuse. |
