Red Ribbon Club, GDC Ramban organises one-day awareness camp on communicable diseases

RAMBAN, May 14: The Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban successfully organised a one-day awareness camp on communicable diseases in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, District Ramban.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Raj Kumar Gupta, Convener of the Red Ribbon Club, who highlighted the importance of such awareness initiatives among students. Prof. Satish Kumar, Principal addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of awareness regarding both communicable and non-communicable diseases, stressing the role of education in prevention and control.
The event was effectively anchored by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Mir. An informative and detailed presentation was delivered by the counselors, Ms. Amrita Thakur and Mr. Romesh, who elaborated on the causes, prevention, and control measures of various communicable and non-communicable diseases.
An interactive activity was also conducted wherein students were divided into three groups. Each group was assigned topics related to communicable and non-communicable diseases, including their causes and preventive strategies. The group leaders Mr. Karan Singh, Ms. Unnati Mahajan, and Ms. Arti Devi-presented the outcomes of their discussions effectively.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 80 students attending along with faculty members. Senior faculty present on the occasion included Prof. Sanjay Katal, Prof. Aditya Sharma, Prof. Ajay Sharma, Prof. Neetu Sharma, Prof. Ram Prakash, Dr. Anuj Gupta, Dr. Vishal, Dr. Varun Sharma, and Prof. Narotam Singh. A pledge on "Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir" was also administered by Dr. Anuj Gupta, reinforcing the commitment towards a drug-free society.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, who appreciated the collaborative efforts and active participation of all involved in the Program.
