BETUL (MP), May 27: Two persons were killed and around a dozen others injured after a pickup truck carrying a wedding party overturned in Madhya Pradesh's Betul district on Wednesday, a police official said. The incident occurred in the afternoon near village Mahupani on the Betul-Khandwa-Ashapur road, about 25 km from the district headquarters. Assistant sub-inspector Jaipal Singh Raghuvanshi, who is the district hospital outpost in charge, said that the vehicle carrying a wedding party from Singot village in Khandwa district was on its way to Bagdona in Betul district when it overturned while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle. He said that Bhuribai Goswami (55) and Mayur Goswami (8) from the group died in the accident, and about a dozen others suffered injuries. The official said the injured persons have been admitted to the district hospital. |
