| Woman from Bilawar killed in road accident at Tikri on NH-44 | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, June 2: A tragic road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Tikri claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman from Bilawar on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Geeta Devi, a resident of Bilawar in Kathua district. According to available information, the accident occurred between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM when a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK14E-8337 was travelling from Jammu towards Udhampur. The vehicle reportedly met with an accident near Tikri under circumstances that are yet to be officially confirmed.
Geeta Devi sustained fatal injuries in the mishap and died on the spot. Her sudden death has left her family and relatives in deep shock and grief. Two other occupants travelling in the vehicle escaped safely and did not suffer any serious injuries. Soon after the accident, a police team reached the scene and initiated legal formalities. The body of the deceased was taken into custody and shifted for further proceedings.
Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Further details are awaited as the inquiry progresses.
