SRINAGAR, June 12: Commissioner Secretary, Information Technology and Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Departments, Saurabh Bhagat, today chaired a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners and senior officers to assess the progress of key digital governance and citizen service delivery initiatives being implemented across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of e-Office 2.0 implementation was undertaken.
The Commissioner Secretary emphasized the need for complete adoption of digital workflows across the government offices to enhance efficiency, transparency and accountability in public administration. He directed all the concerned officers to ensure effective utilization of the platform and further strengthen digital governance practices.
He reviewed the status of telecom connectivity and related infrastructure projects being executed across the Union Territory. He also had detailed discussion on improving digital connectivity, facilitating seamless implementation of telecom initiatives and addressing the issues requiring inter-departmental coordination. He asked the Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments to expedite the pending matters and ensure timely progress of the ongoing projects.
The functioning of Common Service Centres (CSCs) and other citizen-centric digital service delivery platforms was also reviewed. Emphasis was laid on strengthening the last-mile delivery of services, expanding access to digital facilities in remote and underserved areas and improving the overall quality of citizen services.
The Commissioner Secretary reviewed the Aadhaar-related service delivery issues and directed the concerned stakeholders to ensure seamless access to Aadhaar-enabled services for citizens.
He also assessed the preparations for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. He emphasized the importance of robust digital support systems, effective grievance redressal mechanisms and close coordination among the departments to ensure smooth conduct of the Yatra and hassle-free services for the pilgrims.
