Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 13: BJP Spokesperson and former Vice Chairman, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that millions of people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and other disadvantaged sections of society have benefited from the constitutional safeguards envisioned by Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which opened avenues of education, employment, social justice, and dignity for generations.
Balbir Ram Rattan expressed these views while interacting with a group of senior retired government officials from the Scheduled Caste community who had served in different departments and are now pensioners. They included Guldev Raj Bhagat, Hans Raj Loria, Waryam Singh and Rashpal Digra.
During the interaction, the retired officials shared their life experiences and unanimously acknowledged the transformative role played by Dr. Ambedkar in shaping their lives and careers.
They recalled that the constitutional provisions and safeguards introduced under the guidance and vision of Dr. Ambedkar enabled countless individuals from marginalized backgrounds to enter public service and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. They observed that many families, which once faced social and economic barriers, were able to progress through education and government employment because of the opportunities created by these constitutional measures.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that Dr. Ambedkar's contribution extends far beyond the drafting of the Constitution. He was a visionary social reformer who dedicated his life to securing equality, justice, and human dignity for the weaker sections of society. The benefits of his efforts, he said, continue to be felt across the country as millions have risen socially and economically through the constitutional framework he helped establish.
The retired officials expressed gratitude for the opportunities they received during their service careers and stated that their achievements stand as testimony to the far-reaching impact of Dr. Ambedkar's vision. They noted that the constitutional safeguards not only empowered individuals but also strengthened the foundations of an inclusive and democratic India.
Balbir Ram Rattan emphasized that the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar remain as relevant today as ever. He said that every citizen should work towards preserving the values of equality, social harmony, constitutional democracy, and national unity. He also stressed the importance of educating younger generations about the life, philosophy, and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar so that his message of empowerment and social justice continues to inspire the nation for years to come.
