Early Times Report
MAHORE, June 13: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Nominated, Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, today participated in the sacred Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Baba Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah (R.A.) at Neoch, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.
On this spiritually significant occasion, the Hon'ble Member of Parliament offered special prayers for peace, communal harmony, prosperity, progress, and the well-being of people across the country and the world. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized that the teachings of Sufism have always promoted love, humanity, peace, tolerance, and brotherhood, serving as a guiding light for society.
In his special message to the public, Er. Khatana appealed to people, particularly the youth, to actively participate in the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan (Drug-Free Campaign) and join hands with the administration in eradicating the menace of drug abuse from society. He stated that collective efforts, in coordination with the Lieutenant Governor and the administration, are essential to eliminate this social evil and ensure a healthy, secure, and prosperous future for coming generations.
During his visit, the MP interacted with several public delegations and listened to their grievances. The local residents expressed serious concern over the poor condition of roads, inadequate drinking water supply, and erratic electricity services. They conveyed that the lack of basic civic amenities was causing immense hardship to the people living in these far-flung areas.
Er. Khatana also held a detailed meeting with religious leaders and prominent citizens, during which various public issues and developmental concerns were discussed. He assured them that all genuine grievances would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely resolution.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Khatana said that the breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and spiritual significance of Mahore and its adjoining areas possess immense tourism potential. He urged the Government to bring these scenic destinations under the tourism map of Jammu & Kashmir, stating that tourism-driven development would significantly improve local infrastructure and create employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth. He emphasized that promoting tourism in these remote regions would boost the local economy, encourage entrepreneurship, and help curb migration by generating sustainable livelihoods for the younger generation.
