| DC Rajouri reviews health sector performance under NHM | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 18: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a review meeting of the health sector under the National Health Mission (NHM) to assess the progress of healthcare initiatives, developmental works and service delivery across the district.
The DC took a detailed assessment of key health indicators, implementation of NHM programmes, functioning of health institutions and progress on infrastructure development projects.
On maternal and child healthcare, he directed officers concerned to ensure 100 percent institutional deliveries across the district, calling for enhanced field-level monitoring, awareness generation and timely referral mechanisms to achieve the objective.
Reviewing developmental works, the DC directed executing agencies and health authorities to ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects, with strict adherence to prescribed standards and specifications.
He further directed health functionaries to strengthen patient care, ensure the availability of essential medicines and equipment, improve sanitation and hygiene standards in healthcare institutions and maintain a responsive healthcare delivery system.
The DC also reviewed the functioning of NHM programmes and sought updates on service delivery, human resource deployment and healthcare outcomes. Officers concerned briefed the Chair on achievements, challenges and measures being taken to improve healthcare services.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Ravi Kumar Sihag, Medical Superintendent GMC & Associated Hospital Rajouri and other officers concerned, while Block Medical Officers attended through virtual mode. |
