Early Times Report

SAMBA, June 19: Vice President, BJP J&K Rekha Mahajan conducted a detailed Jan Sampark meeting at Nud organised by Mandal President Surinder Singh as part of the party’s grassroots outreach initiative, engaging with farmers and local residents to raise awareness about key Central Government welfare schemes, with special emphasis on the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Ayushman Bharat health coverage.
During the interaction, she highlighted that the upcoming release of the 23rd installment of the PM-Kisan scheme will be carried out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 20, 2026, from Tarakeshwar in West Bengal’s Hooghly district. She informed that under this flagship Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative, more than 9.44 crore eligible farmers across the country will receive Rs 2,000 each directly into their bank accounts, with a total disbursement exceeding Rs 18,880 crore.
Rekha Mahajan underlined that PM-Kisan has emerged as a cornerstone scheme for strengthening the rural economy by providing assured financial support to farmers at critical stages of the agricultural cycle. She emphasized that timely awareness and compliance with scheme requirements are essential to ensure uninterrupted benefits.
She further sensitized beneficiaries regarding mandatory compliance measures including e-KYC completion, updated land records, and Aadhaar-linked active bank accounts. She cautioned that failure to complete these formalities or absence of a valid Farmer ID may lead to disruption or delay in future instalments, urging farmers to complete registration and verification processes at the earliest through the official PM-Kisan portal or Common Service Centres (CSCs).
Reiterating the government’s commitment towards farmer welfare and rural empowerment, she stated that flagship schemes like PM-Kisan and Ayushman Bharat reflect a structured approach towards financial security and accessible healthcare for the farming community and economically weaker sections.
