Balbir's poems on Guru Ravidass released simultaneously in London and Jammu

JAMMU, June 19: In a unique tribute to the teachings and philosophy of Guru Ravidass, two Hindi poems authored by social activist and writer Balbir Ram Rattan were released simultaneously in London and Jammu. The poems, titled "Mann Changa" and "Jai Gurudev", reflect the timeless message of equality, humanity, spiritual awakening and social harmony propagated by Guru Ravidass.
In London, the poems were released under the banner of the British Ravidasia Heritage Foundation (BRHF) by Om Prakash Bagha, Chairman of BRHF, in the presence of Sat Paul MBE, Secretary, and Tarsem Kalyan, Treasurer. Other prominent office bearers attending the function included Kuldip Kumar Sahonta, Katar Chand, Joginder Singh Mehmi, Amreek Singh Gill and Sukhdev Jassi.
In his message, Om Prakash Bagha congratulated Balbir for his literary contribution and said that literature remains one of the most effective mediums for carrying the message of great saints to future generations. He observed that the poems present the ideals of Guru Ravidass in simple and inspiring language, making them relevant for people of all age groups. He expressed hope that such creative efforts would strengthen awareness about Guru Ravidass Ji's teachings across the world.
Simultaneously, the poems were released at Guru Ravidass Temple, Upper Gumat, Jammu, by Mangat Ram Atri, President of Guru Ravidass Sabha, along with Balbir Ram Rattan, National General Secretary of the Indian branch of BRHF. Others present on the occasion included Sabha Vice President Jugal Kishore, Sabha General Secretary Adarsh Jathiar, BRHF National Joint Secretary Ashok Gandhi and Sabha Secretary Gopal Krishan.
Mangat Ram Atri, on this occasion, said that the teachings of Guru Ravidass continue to guide humanity towards truth, equality and social justice. He remarked that poems such as these can play an important role in connecting youth with the Guru's philosophy.
